A delegation from Dubai Department of Economical Development and INDEX Holding visited the Gangnam District in Seoul, Korea

Dubai – A delegation from the Dubai Department of Economical Development (DED) headed by Mr. Fahad Al Gergawi, Chief Executive Officer, Foreign Investment Office accompanied by a delegation from INDEX Holding, chaired by Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani President of INDEX Holding visited the offices of the Urban Economic Planning Bureau of the Gangnam District in Seoul, Korea.
H.E. Jung Chan Bong the Director General, Urban Economic Planning Bureau of the Gangnam District in Seoul, Korea received the delegation and briefed them on the vision, objectives and services of the Gangnam District and expressed his sincere appreciation for the visit of the delegation from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Seoul, Korea.
The delegation was introduced to the activities carried out by the Public Health Policy Steering Division of the Bureau that concentrates on promoting Gangnam District as the center for Medical Tourism where there are more than 2,000 Health Care Institutions including hospitals, medical centers, polyclinics and clinics gearing their high quality services for patients and people seeking medical services and at the same time experiencing the tourist attractions within Seoul City. People from all over the world are visiting Seoul to receive medical care mainly seeking the services of plastic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, gastroenterology and other medical ailment.
The delegation was also introduced to the Business Support Division, Computerized and Information Division and the e-Government Division within the Gangnam District Bureau. The delegation received hands-on experience of the e-Government Services available to the community whereby Korean National have access to all the Governmental Services during the 24 hours basis either from the hundreds of Kiosks distributed all over the district main buildings or at their home through their TV cable services. Using these services, residents can issue and renew their Civil ID, Passports, driving License, request Birth Certificates, Register a plot of land or perform any other official service with the Government.
Mr. Fahad Al Gergawi congratulated the Director General and his team for such achievements and expressed the willingness of the Dubai Department of Economical Development (DED) to extend its cooperation and its services to Gangnam District and emphasized on the strategic relationship between the DED and INDEX Holding, where the later has established its operation within Gangnam District through INDEX Holding, Korea Branch since 2006. Through this presence several business opportunities were open for both countries during these years. The latest of such business relationship was the signing of the agreement between Samsung Medical Center and INDEX Holding to establish the first Samsung INDEX Medical Center in Dubai.
Mr. Fahad Al Gergawi invited the Director General of Gangnam District and his colleagues to visit Dubai and have first hand experience on the services and opportunities available to the District and visa versa.
Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani in this occasion expressed his deepest appreciation to the Gangnam District for their hospitality and friendship and to the Foreign Investment Office of the Dubai Department of Economical Development headed by Mr. Fahad Al Gergawi for their support in realizing this visit that shall pave the way for further developing the business relationships among Seoul and Dubai.
