Riverbed Technology Appoints New Channel Account Manager for Middle East and Africa

Dubai– December 17, 2009 - Riverbed Technology, the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, has announced the appointment of Brian Dainton to the position of channel account manager for the Middle East and Africa regions.
“Brian is a great addition to Riverbed®,” said Marcus Chambers, vice president sales for EMEA at Riverbed. “His knowledge and expertise will be a great asset as we continue to develop our channel partner network within this region.”
Dainton brings over 20 years of experience in the IT industry to Riverbed. He was most recently employed by Symantec as an Information Risk Management Channel Sales Specialist for the Middle East, North Africa, South Africa, Russia and the Southern Mediterranean, based in Dubai. While at Symantec, Dainton also operated as a channel sales manager for the Enterprise Messaging Management team within the UK, with the goal to drive the revenue growth of Symantec’s newest technologies across the Middle East and North and South African regions. Prior to Symantec, Dainton worked for IBM South Africa, Infobank, Allegis Group and ZANTAZ.

Originally qualified as an electrical engineer, Dainton has worked within the South African engineering industry as well as operating as an electrical officer in the South African Merchant Navy.
