Boston University Institute for Dental Research & Education and Dental Health Center - Dubai Hosts 50 Children from Dar Al Ber Society

- Dental Awareness, Screening and Fun Activities Mark ’Make’em Smile Day
Dubai – The Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Education (BUIDRE) and Dental Health Center - Dubai, a member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center (AMC), today announced the Center hosted 50 children from Dar Al Ber Society as part of its initiative to raise awareness among the young on dental care.
Themed ‘Make’em Smile Day’, Boston University Dental Health Center Dubai hosted the children from 6-14 years old and provided them with a day filled with edutainment featuring dental health presentations, brushing demonstrations, games, face painting, balloons and gifts. Healthy snacks were distributed to the kids. Oral hygiene, dental awareness sessions and free screenings were carried out by the center’s pediatric dentists.
Dr. Steven Morgano, Chief Academic Officer of BUIDRE, said: “We are proud to host the children from Dar Al Ber. This is part of our mission to raise awareness on oral hygiene and educate the community, specifically children, in order to encourage them to develop healthy dental care habits at an early age.”
The Dar Al Ber initiative follows a three-day dental health awareness and screening program conducted for over 1,200 children at Dubai International School in Garhoud. The program was part of the school dental week campaign held from 15-19 November in Dubai.
Aiming to raise awareness on oral hygiene among children from KG1 to Grade 6 at Dubai International School in Garhoud, the dental health awareness and screening program included presentations on proper brushing techniques. Free dental screenings were also conducted by Boston University Dental Health Center Dubai pediatric dentists and detailed reports sent to the children’s families, indicating areas of concern.
The awareness sessions additionally highlighted the importance of regular dental screenings for children as part of the school healthcare regimen.
The Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Educationand Dental Health Center Dubai organize various programs designed to enrich and inform the community on oral healthcare. BUIDRE also provides continuing education courses aimed at dentists and dental specialists who seek to review modern concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of dental problems.
