As the clocks struck midnight the glorious Gharana - the authentic Indian restaurant opened towards the end of 2009 - was full, with guests sampling the delights of the traditional Indian cuisine from a buffet while being entertained by the duo Deepa and Sudhanshu who played all night and well in to 2010.
New Year had already passed in Japan by the time midnight arrived in Dubai, but guests enjoyed a Japanese New Year by celebrating with an all-you-can-eat sushi party at Sushi Folie.
There was no healthier way to start the New Year’s resolutions of healthy eating than with the fresh sushi served up all night.

Reda Moukhtar, General Manager, wished all revellers a Happy New Year: “It was a fantastic party, all of our restaurants were buzzing with people reminiscing about 2009 and looking forward to 2010.
“I’d like to wish all those who attended out parties and indeed all those who stayed with us in 2009 a happy and prosperous New Year!”
He added that the hospitality industry had undergone a hard year in 2009, but that the New Year brought optimism.
“2009 was a difficult year for all in the hotel industry, but the sight of full restaurants and happy and optimistic guests at New Year was very positive and we believe 2010 brings with it recovery and a renewed sense of looking forward for us all,” he noted.
