The Indian Republic Day Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira, a gathering of renowned poets from all across the Indian sub-continent is back this year during DSF 2010. To be held on Thursday 28^th January, 2010, at the H.H. Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in The Indian High School, the event will be presided by Chief Justice of Orissa, India, I.M. Quddusi, with Jagdambika Pal, Member of Parliament and ex-Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, India, as Chief Guest.           
 
An official event of DSF since the past seven years and held to commemorate the Indian Republic Day, Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira relives a literary tradition spanning many centuries. Some of the participating poets in this year’s event include Dr. Rahat Indoori, Manzar Bhobali, Ramendera Mohan Triphathi, Dr. Manju Lata, Azam Shakri, Shabeena Adeeb, Jauhar Kanpuri, Dr. Kalim Qaiser, Surinder Singh Shajar, Nadeem Farrukh, Alok Shrivastva, Shalini Sargam, Saleem Kausar, Sikandar Hayat Garbar, Jaleel Nizami, Mohamed Saleem.   
 
Entry to Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira is through invitation only. Popular among millions of Hindi and Urdu speaking audiences, the event is recorded and telecast in over 85 countries.
