- New publication to chart positive expansion of business landscape
Jeddah - Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has consolidated two years of successful teamwork by joining up once again with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to publish its latest report on economic activity and investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The partnership was announced as OBG’s Jeddah editorial and research team, which has just arrived in Jeddah, begins the groundwork for the Group’s highly anticipated business guide, The Report: Saudi Arabia. Rated as the premier source of information for foreign direct investment into the economy, it will be a vital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, political landscape, banking and sectoral developments.
Ophelie Janus, OBG’s Jeddah Manager in KSA, said that the JCCI’s admirable track record in supporting and promoting Jeddah’s businesses was well documented, as was the significant contribution that the Chamber had made to the development and progress of the Kingdom’s economy.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is in the midst of economic transformation following the government’s strategic move to channel efforts into liberalisation and privatisation rather than focusing solely on oil exports,” she said. “The JCCI has detailed knowledge and expertise on the significant developments taking place in the Kingdom, and in Jeddah in particular. I am delighted that the Chamber will continue to pool resources and share valuable business intelligence with OBG as the Group starts work on the forthcoming report.”
The JCCI’s Vice-Chairman, Mazen Baterjee, who signed the partnership on behalf of the Chamber, said that during its efforts to support the commercial and industrial interests of business owners in Jeddah over the years, the Chamber had always flown the flag for promoting positive change, even from within.
“The JCCI has evolved significantly over the decades while carving out a role for itself as the main channel for economic growth and development of the business community,” he said. “It is significant that our freshly-elected board of directors includes a new female deputy chairman - Dr Lama Al-Sulaiman – who is the first woman to be appointed deputy head and Board Member of a Chamber in the KSA.”
“Today’s challenging times heighten the need for key players in business to have accurate, credible data to hand,” he said. “OBG is recognised as one of the leading providers of business intelligence on emerging markets around the world. I am delighted that we will be playing a part in the Group’s latest report which will undoubtedly provide investors with a valuable tool when they come to make their decisions.”
The Report: Saudi Arabia will be produced by a team of OBG analysts based in the Kingdom who will conduct a wide range of interviews with leading political, business and economic figures which will feature in the publication. Available in print form or online, The Report: Saudi Arabia will serve to reinforce OBG’s place as the world market leader in providing accurate, insightful economic information on developing and emerging economies across the continents.
