In line with the series of meetings conducted by the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) with numerous experts in the health care sector, H.E. Ali bin Salem Al Mahmoud, SEDD Director General, recently met with Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, CEO of Medical Licenses and Practices Affairs, Ministry of Health. This was done according to the wise directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

Speaking after the meeting, Al Mahmoud said: “Cooperation between the public and private sectors has become a vital aspect in contributing to the development of services on offer throughout the world, and all indicators denote that modern diseases can only be surpassed through social cooperation and a complete awareness of the health problems the world faces today.

He added: “The meeting was very successful. Various suggestions were agreed upon by both SEDD and the Ministry of Health representatives, which will drive SEDD to cooperate further with the health sector to attract investors into this sector. Furthermore we will aim to achieve future plans that are based on an appropriate and healthy environment, and which will enhance economical growth through this sector. With these goals in sight, SEDD will continue to formulate strategies that reflect the meaning of cooperation, and which serves as building blocks for the very foundations of the economic revolution, which relies on cooperation between all economic sectors.”

Al Amiri stated that the Ministry is seeking to expand the concept of social cooperation both locally and internationally in a manner that strengthens constructive cooperation between all parties in the health sector. “We believe that these kinds of meetings greatly support the health sector and the services offered by this sector. The suggestions made during the meeting will definitely work to support these ends, and we see that achievement of these goals has become a mutual objective for both SEDD and the Ministry of Health. The cooperation with SEDD will greatly contribute to the development of the health sector in the near future.”

SEDD met with a group of doctors, who are active in the emirate of Sharjah, two weeks ago to discuss numerous topics, including investment in the health sector. Suggestions to attract investors into the sector were made during the meeting, and results supporting a vision that establishes the foundations for a business setting, and an environment able to fulfill the needs of investors according to applied regulations, were reached.

Attending the meeting on behalf of SEDD were Khalid Saif, Head of Licenses and Registrations and Khalifa Musbih Al Katbi, Head of Licenses, as well as Dr. Ahmed Hussein Al Zarouni, Head of Medical Licenses and Faisal Salim Al Madfa’, Head of Medical Licenses in Sharjah Medical Zone.
