- MOU on developing specialized human resources over 3 years
Dubai, UAE – The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (“GCAA”) and the Arab Civil Aviation Commission (“ACAC”), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) under which the UAE GCAA will offer training grants to ACAC member-states during 2010-2012 for developing specialized human resources in the civil aviation field.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, and Mohamed Al Elj, Director General of ACAC, signed the MOU in a ceremony held for this purpose in GCAA Dubai Regional office in the presence of Brigadier Ahmed Mohamed bin Thani, Director General of Airport Security Department of Dubai Police, and Lahej Al Falasi CEO Academy of Technical Training in Dubai.
Pursuant to the MOU, the UAE will provide specialized scientific, technical and administrative training programs for ACAC member-states in order to keep them abreast of all developments witnessed by the ever-changing civil aviation industry. The MOU comes in line with the mutual strategic target of both organizations in supporting and developing civil aviation in the Arab World.
“Qualified and specialized human resources have always been the key factors of excellence in the civil aviation industry and have played essential role in promoting this industry within the national economy system. The UAE GCAA features high-caliber professionals who were trained and qualified according to the international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization”, said H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA.
“Under this MOU, GCAA will impart its expertise and know-how in training and developing human resources specialized in civil aviation to ACAC member-states, which will, in turn, expand the base of specialists in this field that is experiencing incredibly rapid growth”, he added.
“The UAE GCAA stands as a unique example in the civil aviation industry at both regional and international levels. Thanks to its persistent efforts in training specialized human resources and strict compliance with the standards of international civil aviation organizations, the GCAA has attained a high and advanced position in this
field. Several authorities and organizations wish to benefit from the UAE GCAA expertise and capabilities in training human resources and its high-end training programs, which all aim at one target: to elevate the overall position of civil aviation industry”, said H.E. Mohamed Al Elj, Director General of ACAC.
It is noteworthy that, under this MOU, the UAE GCAA will hold training sessions with its strategic partners inside and outside the UAE on aviation safety, aviation accident probes, airports security, civil aviation management, flight organizers, assistant air traffic controllers, management of accidents/incidents and probes as well as other specialized training programs in the aviation field.
