Starwood Hotels and Resorts Survey Finds Members of Starwood Preferred Guest Loyalty Programme Yearn for Leisure Travel
|
- “More Nights=More Rewards” Promotion Offers Each Starwood Preferred Guest Double, Triple or Quadruple Starpoints at More than 850 Participating Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) surveyed 800 members of its Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty programme member throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The results reveal a distinct appetite for more leisure travel.
To help members achieve their dreams, SPG also announced the “More Nights=More Rewards” promotion, which offers each Starwood Preferred Guest double, triple or quadruple Starpoints at more than 850 participating Starwood Hotels and Resorts worldwide. The longer guests stay, the more they can earn.
Asked to cite their personal preference for a hotel experience, the majority of respondents identified with the idea of a tropical island getaway at Le Méridien Ile Maurice in Mauritius. The cool atmosphere and modern extravagance at the new W Barcelona scored highly with the male members, while culture and history at the Westin Excelsior, Rome, also made the top three.
Dovetailing with their yearning for leisure travel, most SPG members also want more ‘me time’ with less focus on the toil of nine to five and more focus on family and holidays. A fair proportion of men indicated their desire to ‘live for the day’ and do not need a specific date to change their lives.
The More Nights=More Rewards promotion is available for stays between January 5 and April 15, 2010, and there is no limit to the amount of Starpoints travelers can earn during the period. The offer is available at more than 850 participating properties worldwide, spanning each of Starwood’s nine brands: St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Westin, Le Méridien, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, and the recently launched Aloft, and Element.
Current SPG members must register at http://spg.com/morerewards from January 5 through March 31, 2010 to participate. Travelers who are not yet SPG members can join the award winning loyalty program and explore the full range of program benefits on this site as well. Membership is free and Starpoints are awarded beginning with the first stay.
