  • Abu Dhabi’s largest public healthcare operator unveils three new recruitment programs and plans to take on at least 60 new hires during the next twelve months

Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. (SEHA), the Emirate’s largest public healthcare provider, will unveil a series of new recruitment programs this week as the company participates in Tawdheef 2010—one of the largest career fairs hosted during the spring semester—which is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNCEC) from February 2 - 4. According to company spokespersons, SEHA will be hiring at least 60 new employees in their corporate office during the next twelve months; an increase of nearly 150% from last year’s targets.

Every one of SEHA’s 12 hospitals is represented at Tawdheef as managers and frontline staff provide visitors with detailed information about how the company’s latest recruitment initiatives will be implemented in 2010. The three internal programs are catered to specific demographics in the UAE and have been developed as a way to nurture talent while providing opportunities for vertical career movement.

The EDAD program is designed specifically to help high school and diploma graduates identify career opportunities starting with entry-level jobs within administration and other support departments. Those with more education and work experience are placed within the TAMAYOZ program, which has been created to assist individuals with a higher diploma or bachelor degree in developing their capacity within non-medical departments such as accounting, human resources, marketing, and others. An elite group of applicants placed within the NAQLA program are provided with the resources necessary to enter into managerial positions and further advance their skills set as experienced industry professionals.

“Our participation in Tawdheef is an important part of our social responsibility to promote Emiratization and to support students and graduates as they pursue future careers,” says Mr. Mohamed Al Hameli, Chief Officer of Corporate Support Services at SEHA.  “We recognize the importance of providing a platform for employment opportunities for UAE nationals, and we are actively implementing Emiratization initiatives to increase the number of well-trained, qualified Emirates employed by SEHA.”

According to SEHA’s Human Resources Manager Mr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Tawdheef is a great platform to reach out to job seekers of all ages and backgrounds. “When people think of SEHA as a company, they often just think of doctors and other hospital staff,” comments Al Dhaheri. “While these individuals are a major part of SEHA’s success, there is also a strong corporate office supporting these medical practitioners, and this team is now growing at a tremendous rate.”

SEHA enjoys a market share of about 80% of Abu Dhabi’s inpatient admissions and about 60% of its outpatient visits, operating a total of 12 hospitals, 62 ambulatory and primary healthcare clinics, and two blood banks in Abu Dhabi. SEHA is part of the Government of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector reform initiatives and represents another step in the realization of the vision of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, to provide the people of UAE with healthcare services competitive with the best available in the world.

It is the second time that SEHA has participated in the Tawdheef recruitment show, which this year features approximately 40 governmental and private exhibitors from across the UAE
