  • Aims for 35 percent nationalization by end of year; showcases range of Emiratization initiatives at Tawdheef

Underlining its alignment with the Abu Dhabi Economic vision 2030, ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) has announced that it aims to increase its focus on Emiratization as the company continues to expand its talent base.

ADNEC is highlighting its already successful Emiratization programme at the Tawdheef recruitment fair, which is being held from February 2 – 4, 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.  ADNEC's stand (B606) is located in Hall 6.

“We are firmly committed to identifying, developing and highlighting UAE National talent and are very proud to have already achieved 30 percent nationalization among positions identified as being suitable for nationals within the company. We will increase this to 35 per cent by the end of the year,” said Humaid Al Dhaheri, ADNEC’s Director of Finance & HR.

“ADNEC is very pleased to be the exhibitor, host venue and sponsor for this key event which is being presented by Abu Dhabi’s Tawteen Council. Our continued business expansion provides numerous career opportunities for prospective employees, with Emiratization continuing to be a strong pillar that drives our growth in years to come,” Al Dhaheri added.

Besides participating in a number of leading recruitment events such as Tawdheef, ADNEC also partners with leading colleges and universities to draw attention to career opportunities within the company. ADNEC also has a rigourous and transparent testing and interview process which aims at attracting the best talent and matching them to the most suitable opportunities.

Elaborating on initiatives geared towards Emiratization, Al Dhaheri noted that ADNEC already had a well-structured programme in place. "We focus on career development; not only providing jobs. To begin with, employees go through a formal induction programme ensuring they commence their careers at ADNEC on a sound footing. ADNEC also has programmes focussed on Recognition and Rewards, as well as a Mentoring programme aimed at nurturing high achievers. For Emiratis, we also provide the unique opportunity to participate in a secondment programme at ExCel London, ADNEC's London venue. In addition to these opportunities, our compensation and benefits packages are among the best in the industry."

During the Tawdheef event, job seekers are being encouraged to submit their CVs at ADNEC’s stand. ADNEC will conduct onsite interviews and screening for select candidates. Presentations on careers at ADNEC, as well as exciting contests will also be hosted by ADNEC.

In addition to being the host venue for some of the UAE's largest and most well-regarded events such as the World Future Energy Summit, IDEX (International Defence Exhibition & Conference), ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference) and Cityscape Abu Dhabi, ADNEC is responsible for a number of high profile development projects such as Capital Centre, (a mixed-use development of 23 residential, commercial and mixed-use towers adjacent to the exhibition centre), Capital Gate (an iconic 35 storey gravity defying feature tower, featuring the 5-star hotel - 'Hyatt at Capital Centre') and a 2.4km Marina zone.

ADNEC's venue portfolio includes the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre - the Gulf's largest and one of the world's most modern exhibition centres, and ExCel London, the UK capital's largest exhibition and conference venue. In addition, ADNEC is expanding within the region, with the Al Ain Convention Centre, a residential and business micro city around a state-of-the-art convention centre.
