Dubai Trade names Danzas AEI Emirates for E-Services Excellence Award (ESEA) 2009

Top performers honored for electronic payment service adoption; unique initiative marks success again

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 25, 2010 (ME NewsWire): Dubai Trade, the innovative online platform of Dubai World, today (January xx) named Danzas AEI Emirates, part of the Deutsche Post DHL group and foremost logistics provider in the UAE, as the winner of the prestigious Dubai Trade E-Services Excellence Award (ESEA) 2009. The award recognizes the exceptional overall performance that Danzas has achieved through the adoption of Dubai Trade’s integrated e-payment platform (ROSOOM).

ESEA also chose four other leading performers based on their rate of e-service conversion in conducting business: Unique Sea Cargo Services was named as the Platinum Performer, Globelink West Star Shipping LLC as Gold Performer, Al Areesh Cargo Clearing & General Transport as Silver Performer and Silk Road Shipping as Bronze Performer.

Al Ghurair Foods won the Special Award for their excellent performance in E-Token Services. They were cited for exemplary management of e-token generation on behalf of their selected haulers dealing with DP World, the global port operator.

Dubai Trade has introduced the ESEA as an annual initiative to recognize leading performers in a specific area of electronic service. The Award, first of its kind in the region, focused in 2009 on electronic payment using Dubai Trade’s highly popular and efficient ROSOOM services and the winners were selected on the basis of their performance.

The Awards for the winner and the four best performers were presented at a gala dinner at Raffles Hotel, Dubai, on January 19, 2010, which was attended by leaders from Dubai’s business community including Dubai Trade customers, partners and bankers, in addition to members of Dubai World’s Board of Directors and senior management from the group’s business units.

Salma Hareb, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Zones World, representing Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai World and Chairman of Dubai Trade, congratulated the winners. She said: “These companies have proved the remarkable way performance can be enhanced through the adoption of electronic transaction methods. Through ESEA Dubai Trade is keeping its pledge to promote e-services and facilitate easier trade flow. The effort will continue with the aim to maintain Dubai’s status as the most investor friendly trade hub in the region.”

ESEA is the first of its kind where the winners are selected on performance and not nomination. The selection for the 2009 awards was based on criteria that reflected the rate of conversion of services from manual to electronic, the volume of business generated, the number of transactions made online and the value of payment made through ROSOOM.

ROSOOM, the centralized e-payment gateway on www.dubaitrade.ae, enables registered members of Dubai Trade to make use of an array of transaction options available on the widely accessed platform.

Dubai Trade’s integrated electronic services cover the entire supply chain and bring together into a single community all the companies that interact with DP World,Dubai  customs ,Jebel Ali Free zone authority and Dubai Multi Commodities Center for the purpose of trade.
