Festival Centre, the award winning shopping and leisure precinct of Dubai Festival City has lined up a splendid array of music, entertainment from world renowned artists and fabulous offers from over 450 leading retailers during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Among the events headlining the month-long festivities include the Dubai Fringe Festival.
 
Dubai Fringe Festival. Some of the top acts from the world’s most recognised festival of entertainment are being flown into Dubai for the city’s very own fringe festival. It features free street entertainment and performers in key outdoor locations around the venue. Innovative street artists will be on hand to create a festival atmosphere, unlike anything that has been seen in Dubai before. With world renowned entertainers such as Pedro Tochas, Magic Brian, Benny B, Basketball Jones, Sam Wills, Reuben Dot Dot amongst others Dubai’s first Fringe Festival will surely be one to remember!
 
Other major events at the Festival Center include:
Monster Trucks Dubai. For a turbo charged, auto crushing, rubber burning, heart thumping, breathe taking, ride of your life head to the Dubai Festival City and watch in awe as two Monster Trucks – go head-to-head at the first Monster Trucks Dubai event from January 28 to February 28.
The event which promises to be a thrilling day out for the entire family will be held at the Festival Centre in a purpose built arena. The award winning Festival Center has been at the forefront in bringing some of the finest entertainment to residents of the city. Festival Center will be the hub of all premier entertainment activities at this year’s Dubai Shopping Festival.
 
Monster Trucks Dubai promises 60 minutes of adrenalin fuelled motor mayhem that includes car crushing, motorcycle free-styling, ramp jumping, wheelie pulling, quad bike leaping and two wheel car driving that will leave visitors dumbfounded.
 
There are a total of 56 shows across 30 days with shows running on Monday and Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm and 9pm, Friday 4pm, 7pm and 9pm and Saturday 4pm and 7pm. 
 
Advance tickets are available at Dubai Festival City and online through Time Out Tickets www.timeouttickets.com. Tickets are priced at AED45 for standing and AED75 for seating areas.

The Sign-spotting Project: Running for the duration of the festival, a free exhibition of Lonely Planet’s bestselling collection of outrageous and unforgettable signs will also be on display at Festival City’s Marina Promenade. Curated by world traveller Doug Lansky and snapped by people from all over the world, this touring collection of side-splitting signs has already become a huge success, tickling over three million visitors in the city centres of Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and at Edinburgh’s world famous Fringe Festival.

Souris Mini. Kids Workshop – First level near Toys ‘R’ Us every Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday from 12noon to 4pm.
SingStar Karaoke Night: Weekly Karaoke sessions at the Marina Terrace every Saturday 7pm to 10pm. Free participation.
 
Festival Rhythm Nights: Community Drumming every Thursday and Saturday from 7pm to 10pm at the Festival Square. Free participation.
 
Urban Thursday: Interactive games, Street dancing, Graffiti wall, Music videos from 7pm to 12midnight. 
 
Community Arts Market: Great new artisans from all over the UAE. First Friday of each month (March 5 and April 2) from 2pm to 9pm at the Marina Promenade.
 
Freij Fun Rides: Daily from 10am to 10pm at Festival Marina
 
Emirates Kart Zone: Opening of new track. Daily from 10am to 10pm.
